Archery Saturday, 9 May, 2009

Reilly went to a free archery class through the Town of Buckeye last Saturday.
It was really HOT, but he had a great time.
He was so excited at the end of class they got to shoot balloons
and he was one of three kids to pop a balloon with his arrow.
The boy's got Talent.
This picture is at the end of class right before he popped the balloon.

This was at the beginning of class, the instructor went around to each student to help with form and stance, ect...

Below is the target with Reilly's arrow in it

FEVER 105 Degrees

Charlee has some weird bug.
On Friday morning she had a fever of 101, then it went away and she felt great the rest of the day. On Saturday she felt tired and had 101 fever again, but by 8:30 her soccer game time, she felt great again. Felt fine all day long, no complaints. Then Saturday night she started to feel yucky and we had her stay at home with Brenden, (No Luau, so sad). She went to bed early and at two in the morning woke up with coughing, and coughing and more coughing. Poor thing. So we wake up every couple of hours because her cough is so bad.
Then about 9 am, she starts to feel dizzy and shaky and telling me she hurts all over. So we take her temp again (we just took it an hour before, only 100) and the thermometer says 105 . I make her sit in the shower as she cry's it's to cold. (not). We are on the phone with the doctor, and he says to take her in if it doesn't come down or call 911 if she starts to have a seizure, OK I am getting nervous now. Well within like 15 minutes it's down to 104 and within 2 hours down to 102(she says she feels better now).
I don't like to take them in to the ER and expose them to lots of other germs when I can handle it. I am really blessed that I know what to do in an emergency.(MA and EMT training) She is on the 2 hour rotation on meds (adult doses - as long as she drinks lots) and we are going to doctor in the morning.
Sorry if we exposed anyone to this!!!
Mom just leave me alone.
Cough, cough, cough, cough, cough, cough, cough. . . . . . . . . . . . .
whatever, no energy

LUAU

Our stake had a really fun Luau last night . The food was yummy, the company was great, and the entertainment was exceptional.
Brenden was all set to go (handsome isn't he), when Charlee started to not feel so good. So Brenden volunteered to stay home as long as I brought him food home.
The Hawaiian Red Neck Cowboy!!!

Reilly playing at the park on the the wiggle worm (???) that's what we call it, with friends and other children from the stake.

He always does this

We had a great time at soccer games and they learned so much, and are finally getting good, it almost is a shame that soccer is now over. Almost! Now we have 4 evenings during the week with about 1-2 more hours added to them and a saturday that has at least 3 more hours added to it. They did wonderful!
Charlee's team only lost one game the entire season, and tied one.
Reilly's team improved so much, they won one game and tied one game.
We are very proud of them.

Volcano's

I am king of the mountain

Our experiment with a twist

At science class, it was on volcano's. Reilly was really excited, he can tell you about tectonic plates and the where the biggest volcano is in the world and the universe are.
Today was all hands on, we did lots of different experiments.
Our favorite was the one like the vinegar and baking soda, but with a twist, the foaming part stayed and grew. I am going to do this one at home if I can find all the ingredients.

Labeling all the pictures

For whatever reason, I can't get the pictures to show if I label them, so I am labeling this blog for all three events.

Chihuly: The Nature of Glass at the Desert Botanical Gardens Saturday, April 18, 2009
We went to the Desert Botanical Gardens with our wonderful Aunt Pamela, we enjoyed the awesome glass exibit. (Reilly had fun taking pictures, over 200 just of the glass). We also went to see the Butterfly Exibit, always an exciting activity. It is kind of magical when you have a butterfly land on you. (Pictures Above)

Turtle Trapping at the Phoenix Zoo

On Friday April 17, 2009 we participated in an AZ game and fish home shool event. We went to the Phoenix Zoo and helped them catch, sort, and educated the public about non-native turtles. It was really interesting and we all learned alot. They gave us alot of information to learn so that we could infor the people crossing the bridge into the zoo about what was going on in pond/river. I didn't know that non-native turtle were out-competing our native turtles, even eating them in some cases. Reilly and I were the outreach people and Charlee got to be the runner, she was allowed to take the turtles (in a container) from the pond to the where the data was collected. She was allowed to write the data down for the biologist. (from PHS).

As a fun bonus, we received a free pass to the zoo and an upclose and personal tour of the galapagos turtles.
